Sneaker of the Week: adidas Originals Stadt

adidas have a long and illustrious history of gum-sole sneakers and the Stadt is the latest addition to that.

Stadt is German for City, but these colourful releases are not actually part of the ongoing City series that has touched on the likes of Munich, Amsterdam and more. Rather, there is a similar silhouette but something with subtle differences.

The Stadt also draws heavy influences from the Tobacco and Trimm Star, two more classic shoes from adidas Originals. With details like the eyelets for laces and the shape of the toe areas, the Stadt has gained influence from various different parts of adidas history and it’s this that makes it such a special shoe.

The colours are quite loud with“Real Purple/Solar Yellow/Gold Metallic” or “Glow Green/Gold Metallic” being your only options. And yet, with the classic three-stripes, there remains a classy understatedness that sneakers in this vein are loved for.
