Fashion Friday: Skepta’s MAINS’ “Voyage” collection

In a week that has given us some reassurance that summer is indeed on it’s way, our weekly fashion highlight has a fitting summer reference of ‘Voyage.’

Knowing the artistic mind of Skepta, the founder of MAINS who have just dropped the collection in question, the concept of ‘voyage’ is likely to mean more than a summer holiday towards the seaside, but it’s an interpretation we like nonetheless. The timely post-season drop has some amazing graphic tees, all coming in black, with different modes of timeless-looking transport on the front.

Printed onto each tee like an old-timey emblem, you’ll notice an aeroplane, a sports car and a boat on these flexible, comfortable-looking crew-neck t-shirts. The travel influence comes into play with the tracksuit released, too, offering a comfortable attire for wherever this SS19 make take you.

Undeniably ‘streetwear’ in it’s look, the collection is also somehow quintessentially British, as the London rap and grime legend puts his own DNA into his art once more. The tracksuit uses an all-over Houndstooth check print, a classic pattern of British textile history.

With his long-awaited next album also set to drop, the Boy Better Know artist has clearly been busy in recent months or even years, and this new drop from his fashion line marks the start of him sharing a whole bulk of work. Released on Thursday May 23rd, the collection is available from MAINS’ website.
