Unique Experience ‘The Art of Banksy Without Limits’ Comes to Amsterdam

After welcoming millions of visitors in over 30 cities around the world, the exhibition The Art of Banksy Without Limits will land in Amsterdam this summer. From Friday, 6 June through 24 August 2025, the iconic NDSM Loods in Amsterdam-Noord will serve as the backdrop for this groundbreaking experience.

Beyond the Frame

This experience immerses visitors in the gritty and provocative world of the British street artist Banksy. With over 200 works — including certified originals — the exhibition offers a surprising mix of art, prints, photographs, sculptures, murals, video projections, and interactive installations. It’s far more than a museum visit: it’s a true experience. And it takes place at the iconic NDSM Loods.

As Olivier Varossieau — international art collector and gallery owner — puts it:
For me, it’s important that the artist has their own signature. Banksy has that — it’s his wit and satire. Every work has layers. At first, you might just find it funny. But then you start thinking about the message behind it. There’s so much more. You need to really look, walk away, then come back and look again. If something big is happening — and he feels it needs a voice — he’ll be there. And he’ll always make you think.”

Olivier has been organising exhibitions with Banksy for over 15 years, and calls The Art of Banksy: Without Limits one of the best shows he’s seen.

Step Into Banksy’s World

Visitors will step into a world where Banksy’s work is not only seen but also felt. The exhibition features original works and detailed reproductions, created using the artist’s signature stencil technique. In addition to photos, sculptures, and murals, there are interactive elements such as an infinity mirror room and a hologram installation. A documentary provides context and insight into the thinking of the anonymous artist – without unraveling the mystery entirely. It is especially curated for a comprehensive educational insight of the world of the artist.

Tom Bingle — better known as INKIE — is a pioneering figure in the British street art scene. Growing up in Bristol, he worked closely with Banksy on several iconic murals. As someone deeply embedded in the movement, INKIE offers a uniquely authentic perspective on Banksy’s creative impact:

He’s just exceptional as an artist. He’s always had a strong vision for creative ideas and concepts. Even if he does something small, there’s always a subtle but powerful message behind it. He creates art that resonates with people. And he usually makes a statement that everyone agrees with — but no one else has the courage to ‘say’ it.”

Works like Flower Thrower and Kissing Coppers, installations from the satirical Dismaland, and the Phone Booth sculpture gain even more impact in this setting. Everything contributes to a visually and intellectually powerful total experience. There is also a dedicated space for Banksy’s work on current issues such as migration and conflict, including a striking installation about Ukraine. Visitors can also get creative by spraying their own T-shirt; proceeds (€2 donation per shirt) go to the organisation M.V. Louise Michel.

About The Art of Banksy Without Limits

The Art of Banksy Without Limits is an international touring exhibition that brings together more than 200 works by Banksy, including certified originals, prints, photographs, sculptures, objects, and digital installations. What began as a more traditional exhibition has evolved over the years into a full-scale experience, where art, technology, and immersion come together. Visitors are not only informed, but actively engaged through interactive installations, video projections, and surprising elements. Since its launch in 2016, the exhibition has attracted more than 2.5 million visitors worldwide. Following the success of the earlier edition in Amsterdam, the exhibition now returns to the city as a renewed and enriched experience. In Amsterdam, the experience takes place in the industrial NDSM Loods – a setting that perfectly complements Banksy’s raw and socially critical style.
