This is the Most Sustainble Club of the Premier League

Brighton & Hove Albion aren’t just winning fans with their fearless football, they’re also topping a very different kind of league table. Named the Premier League’s greenest club with a score of 80.6 out of 100, the Seagulls are proving that success isn’t only measured in goals and points, but in the legacy you leave once the match is over.

Brighton’s Green Game

On the pitch, Brighton have become everyone’s favourite underdog story, outpassing giants and lighting up Europe. Off the pitch, they’re leading another revolution. The Amex Stadium sits surrounded by rolling green, nearly 189 hectares of space that makes matchday feel less like a concrete jungle and more like football in the fresh air. Add to that renewable energy, water reuse, and waste-cutting initiatives, and Brighton aren’t just playing football, they’re playing it smart for the planet.

Sustainability Competitors

So who’s chasing them? Brentford come close, with the most green space of any club, but higher emissions kept them in second. Tottenham, once hailed as the sustainability leaders, boast almost every eco-measure you could think of, yet still trail Brighton thanks to their lack of green surroundings. And London neighbours Chelsea and Fulham might win praise for low emissions, but their compact riverside stadiums don’t give them much room to breathe.

Then there’s the other end of the scale: Leeds United. With over a million tonnes of transport emissions and barely a patch of green around Elland Road, they’re a stark reminder of how wide the gap is between football’s eco-leaders and its laggards.

More Than 90 Minutes

The Premier League has pledged net zero by 2040, and Brighton are already showing the blueprint. For their fans, it means pride that stretches beyond Saturday afternoons. This is football that entertains, inspires, and leaves something lasting long after the whistle blows.
