A major step is the upcoming calendar shift, moving toward a schedule that mirrors European football. This change strengthens competitiveness and improves player movement in the transfer market. It also reduces conflicts with international football, something the league could not realistically consider before.
Combined with a global streaming strategy through Apple TV, the league has removed many of the barriers that once limited its reach. Accessibility is no longer an issue, ambition is no longer questioned.
The growing competitiveness is reflected in global rankings, where MLS now sits at tenth spot worldwide, according to global football rankings. The rise of MLS is no longer about catching up, but about staying relevant at the highest level.
