Manchester United’s young forward, Tahith Chong, is set to stay at the club and fight for his place in spite of interest from Eredivisie clubs.
The Dutchman came through the academy system at Feyenoord before leaving for England and in recent years has been one of the most hotly-tipped young talents at Old Trafford. However, the nature of the club and the Premier League have seen first-team opportunities become quite limited, cueing interest from former club Feyenoord and PSV.
Yet, Tahith has no plans to leave Manchester at this point. His agent Erkan Alkan told VI, ‘Tahith does not want to be loaned, but to fight for his chance at Manchester United. Top clubs from the Bundesliga and La Liga also have him in sight. He has done a strong preparation, in which he has proven he belongs to the better attackers of United.”
Following the exit of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan and the prospect of Alexis Sanchez joining him at the San Siro, United are seen to be short up front, so perhaps his decision could pay-off come the end of the season.
