There was a fanfare when Zlatan’s statue was unveiled at his hometown club, Malmo. However, since he invested in their rivals last month, the statue has been vandalised on more than one occasion.
His 25% stake in Hammarby has come at the cost of his nose, as vandals, presumably fans of Malmo, have defaced the statue that was unveiled earlier this year. Over 3 metres tall, the statue was commissioned by the Swedish FA as a tribute to Zlatan’s service to the sport but, as far as some people are concerned, his decision to invest in Hammarby has tarnished his legacy.
The select few have made their feelings clear, with a toilet seat being thrown over the statue previously before this recent act of vandalism. It’s not always easy being Zlatan, it seems.
