Shanice van de Sanden is on fire.
Silver at the World Cup in France with the Dutch national team, twice in a row a
Champions League winner with the best women’s team in the world, Olympique Lyon. That European Championship medal. Is there anything else to win? Yes, the Fashion Player Award of course. Life After Football nominated the first woman ever in the history of the trophy and flew to Lyon for a series of snaps in her hometown.
Van de Sanden’s story sounds like a great dream. Soccer at the highest level, in England, France, in the World Cup final. The highest attainable cup for club teams, twice in a row. Finals full of decisive final passes.
I want to know if there is anything else to be achieved. Shanice: “Yes. I want to win prizes every year. I want to go to Tokyo with the Dutch national team and grab an Olympic medal there. In the end, when you win prizes, it is really addictive. You want to keep winning. And for me personally: more goals. Last year I had two assists in the final, the year before three assists. But scoring more remains a goal of mine, with Lyon and the Dutch national team. ”

Shanice can play again and therefore, the story continues…
