Philips Airfryer Megabasket Brings More Flexibility to Matchday Cooking
When the match is on, nobody wants to miss a goal because they are still standing in the kitchen. The new Philips Airfryer Megabasket with steam function is designed to make cooking faster, more flexible and easier to manage, whether you are preparing a quick weekday meal or a full spread for friends and family. With an adjustable basket, air-frying and steaming functions, and automatic synchronisation, Philips combines the convenience of a compact air fryer with the capacity of a larger family model.
One basket, two ways to cook
Choosing the right air fryer often comes down to size. A compact model may be practical for everyday meals, while a larger appliance offers more room when cooking for several people. With the Philips Airfryer Megabasket, users no longer have to choose between the two.
The basket can be used as one large compartment with a capacity of approximately ten litres. This provides enough space for larger portions, including up to 2.5 kilograms of fries, 1.9 kilograms of spare ribs or a whole chicken.
Alternatively, the basket can be divided into two separate compartments of three and six litres. Each side can then operate with its own temperature and cooking time, making it possible to prepare two different dishes simultaneously.
Moreover, the synchronisation function ensures that both sides finish at the same time.

Crispy outside, juicy inside
Alongside its adjustable basket, the appliance introduces Philips’ SteamFry technology. By combining hot air with steam, it aims to create dishes that remain juicy on the inside while developing a crispy exterior.
Users can also select the separate steam function, which helps preserve up to 93 per cent of nutrients. As a result, the appliance can be used for more than traditional air-fried snacks.
With 28 cooking programmes and temperatures ranging from 40°C to 200°C, the Megabasket supports a wide variety of preparations. These include grilling, baking, fermenting, reheating, steaming and air-frying.
The appliance also connects to the HomeID app, where users can access hundreds of recipes, personalised settings and step-by-step instructions. Over time, the app can learn individual cooking preferences and adjust its suggestions accordingly.
Built for busy days and big matches
The Megabasket is designed to reduce both cooking time and the effort required afterwards. According to Philips, it cooks up to 49 per cent faster than a conventional oven while using up to 80 per cent less energy.
Cleaning has also been simplified. The SteamClean function helps clean the basket automatically, while the removable components are dishwasher-safe. In addition, the appliance features a PFAS-free ceramic non-stick coating.
However, its flexibility may be most noticeable during matchday. Different snacks, such as gyoza and chicken skewers, can be prepared at the same time without requiring constant supervision. The separate compartments allow each dish to cook at the right temperature, while the synchronisation function ensures everything is ready before kick-off or half-time.
