PATRÓN Paloma Pop-Up Lands in Amsterdam

The PATRÓN Paloma Pop-Up is bringing one of the world’s most refreshing cocktails to Amsterdam for International Paloma Week. On Saturday 23 May, PATRÓN opens an exclusive one-day experience in the Negen Straatjes, inviting guests to discover the craft behind the perfect Paloma.

More Than Just a Cocktail

The Paloma is made with premium tequila from 100% Blue Weber-agave, lime, agave syrup and grapefruit soda. Fresh, sparkling and slightly spicy, it has become one of the most popular cocktails in the world.

For PATRÓN, the cocktail is also a way to show a different side of tequila. Instead of the old image of late-night shots, the focus is on quality, balance and craftsmanship. Guests will be introduced to different PATRÓN expressions, from Silver to El Alto, while learning how small details shape the final drink.

As Nick Vrielink, bartender at Fitz’s Bar Amsterdam, puts it: “A Paloma is about precision and simplicity. It is fresh, lively and perfectly balanced in taste and character. The perfect choice for summer.”

Inside the PATRÓN Paloma Pop-Up

The PATRÓN Paloma Pop-Up takes place during International Paloma Week, which runs from 18 to 24 May. The Amsterdam pop-up itself is open for one day only, with tasting sessions available at 14:00, 15:15 and 16:30.

Places are limited, and guests can reserve a spot by emailing their name and preferred time slot to rsvp.ams@oonabaas.com. Everyone who joins leaves not only with the full PATRÓN experience, but also with a goodiebag to recreate the perfect Paloma at home.

Where to Drink a Paloma in Amsterdam

The pop-up may be exclusive, but the Paloma moment continues across the city. Several bars and restaurants in the Netherlands will serve the cocktail during Paloma Week, while a number of Amsterdam cocktail bars extend the celebration until the end of May.

Participating locations include Fitz’s Bar Amsterdam, Prins & Aap, IZAKAYA, THE BUTCHER Social Club, Belly of the Beast, Sonora Bar & Selva, MR PORTER and Flying Dutchmen Cocktails.

Together, they create a small route through Amsterdam, from refined cocktail bars to sunny terraces. The kind of route that makes the Paloma feel less like a trend, and more like the drink of the season.

How to Make the Perfect Paloma

For those making it at home, PATRÓN keeps it simple: 40 ml PATRÓN Reposado or Silver, 20 ml lime juice, one cocktail spoon of agave syrup, 100 ml grapefruit soda, ice and a grapefruit wedge.

Fill a longdrink glass with ice, add the ingredients, stir gently and garnish with grapefruit. Simple, fresh and built for summer.
