One League, One Ball, 123 Nations

The Eredivisie has a new official match ball: the “Globall”. It’s being launched in 123 countries to celebrate all the nationalities that have played in the league. This season, players from some of the world’s smallest football nations will proudly carry that message onto the pitch. Here’s everything you need to know about the new Eredivisie ball.

The “Global” Eredivise Ball

Few European leagues have as many nationalities as the Eredivisie, and the 2025–26 season proves that again. The “Globall” features a crisp white base, giving the ball a clean and modern look while allowing every detail to stand out. Black elements, including the Derbystar and Eredivisie logos, add contrast and keep the design sharp and professional. The standout feature is the full world map, where each of the 123 countries is shaded in deep blues, rich greens and earthy browns. At the center sits a striking red circle, symbolizing the Eredivisie as the heart of this international mix, where all nationalities come together. The “Globall” isn’t just symbolic, it highlights players from remote islands, overlooked African nations, and small European countries.

The 2025–26 Eredivisie features players from countries you rarely see on European club rosters. For example: Alessio da Cruz leads Fortuna Sittard’s line while repping Cape Verde, an Atlantic island nation better known for music than football. Noam Emeran brings Rwandan flair to FC Groningen, playing with the urgency and confidence of someone putting his country on the map. And Enes Mahmutović, NAC Breda’s composed centre-back, gives tiny Luxembourg a strong presence in the back line. These players contribute every week and represent their often ignored countries on the national stage.

The 25/26 Season

Volendam and Excelsior return to the top flight, taking the places of relegated Almere City and RKC Waalwijk. Champions PSV defend their crown, while Ajax and Feyenoord reload with revamped squads to challenge. AZ and Utrecht remain dangerous outsiders. AZ’s 9–1 win and Almere’s 1–7 loss last season showed just how brutal Eredivisie margins can be. This season, only the 16th-placed team enters the relegation playoff — leaving fewer chances to survive. Pressure will rise at both ends of the table as teams fight for titles or safety. With new teams, tighter rules, and fresh storylines, the 2025–26 season promises drama on and off the pitch.
