Mbappé Reveals How Life in Madrid Helped Him Find Balance Again

For Kylian Mbappé, moving to Madrid wasn’t just a transfer, it was a reset. The French superstar says life in the Spanish capital has finally given him the space to slow down, breathe, and find balance in his lifestyle again. It’s a calmer, more grounded side of Mbappé, one that’s starting to shape the best football of his career.

Finding Balance in Madrid

Since leaving the intensity of Paris, Mbappé has spoken about how the change of rhythm in Madrid has helped him reset mentally and physically. In a recent interview with Reuters, he said the slower pace of life has been good for him, from taking quiet walks in the city to spending more time at home instead of in the spotlight. The pressure at Real Madrid is still there, but the environment feels different. He describes it as “healthier” lifestyle, surrounded by teammates who share the same focus on preparation and balance.

It’s a shift that’s showing in how he trains and plays. Mbappé now takes recovery more seriously, investing time in mindfulness and routine, something he admitted was harder to manage in France where he was under constant scrutiny. He says he’s learned to separate life from football, something he couldn’t always do at PSG. “Here, I can think clearly,” he shared, “I wake up calm, I go to training calm, and I feel calm when I play.” That clarity has given him a sense of freedom on the pitch, one that reminds him of why he fell in love with the game in the first place.

His Career at Real Madrid so far

Since arriving in the summer of 2024, Kylian Mbappé has made his mark in Spain in every sense. In his first season he scored 39 goals across all competitions, including a LaLiga Golden Boot with 31 league goals. Though Madrid narrowly missed out on the league title and fell in the Champions League quarter-finals, Mbappé’s arrival reenergised the club, claiming the Spanish Super Cup.

A year later, he has settled into life at Real Madrid and plays with a renewed sense of confidence and control. The headlines about pressure have faded. What remains is a player fully in rhythm with his surroundings: he opened this season with 14 goals in his first 10 games, placing Madrid top of LaLiga and leading their charge in the Champions League group stage, where they’ve already secured important early wins. He looks sharper, calmer, and more comfortable than ever, a player in sync with both the team and himself.

There have been bumps along the way, as there always are in Madrid. Missed chances, fatigue, and constant comparisons to the icons who came before him are part of the job. But Mbappé’s response has been steady professionalism. Madrid’s next test comes against local rival Getafe on Saturday, October 18, before turning their attention back to Europe. All eyes will be on Mbappé once again, not just for the goals, but for the composure that now defines his game.
