Arsenal tie down Tierney
Kieran Tierney has been touted as the best second-best Scottish left-back around right now.
This may not sound like much of a billing, but when you consider that Scotland’s first-choice left-back Andy Robertson is a European champion and recorded the 5th most assists in the Premier League last season, suddenly the title makes more sense. The Gunners have a fine talent in Tierney and showed off their new man on Instagram, naturally.
Carroll is back in Toon
One of the stories of deadline day was Andy Carroll’s return to Newcastle United.
The boyhood Geordie left the club for Liverpool in 2011, signing for a them British record fee. And his form has never quite been the same since but, nothing is likely to spark a change in fortunes for the big striker like a return home to St. James Park. Newcastle United unveiled the news on Instagram with a well-timed #TBT post.
Is Leo Messi still on holiday?
Our last three weekly Instagram round-ups have featured holiday snaps of Lionel Messi and he started this week by lapping up just a little bit more sun.
Leo Messi is back from holiday!
But Leo is now finally back and he’s swapped the panda shorts for his training kit…
One last deadline day Instagram post to finish the round-up, as Romelu Lukaku poses in his new jersey.
Leaving United for Inter Milan, this is a fresh start for the Belgian and one that he seems pretty pleased about… two thumbs up.
