This week we’re raising a glass to some true masters of their craft, as we take a closer look at The GlenDronach, legends on the whiskey game.

Founded back in 1826, The GlenDronach is one of the oldest whiskey distilleries in Scotland, priding itself on the use of the best barrels to mature their produce. But they actually go one step further than that, opting for a Scotch single malt with maturation thanks to sherry barrels. 

This helps to give the brand it’s unique taste across all of their products from the 12-year-old whiskeys to their golden-packaged, 21-year-old bottles. In fact. the core range of The GlenDronach consists of a number of sublime aged single malts. Varying from The 8YO Hielan, The 12YO Original, The 15YO Revival, The 18YO Allardice and the 21YO Parliament. The 12YO is the flagship of The GlenDronach and is perhaps the best known.

The 12YO Original

This rich sherried Scotch single malt has matured for a minimum of twelve years in a combination of the best Spanish Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry barrels. The GlenDronach 12YO is non-chill filtered, naturally amber-coloured and bottled with 43% alcohol. The GlenDronach 12YO Original is a sweet and creamy dram and has made this historic brand world famous.
