Former footballer Robin van der Meer on his hair transplant: ‘’I no longer have anything to hide’’
Robin van der Meer, who currently plays amateur football for Rijnsburgse Boys, has recently undergone FUE-CT hair transplantation at the Amsterdam Hair Institute. The former footballer of FC Utrecht, ADO Den Haag, and Excelsior among others, has gained much more confidence since. ‘’Because of my hair problems, I was very conscious of how it looked to others,’’ says the 29-year-old Dutchman.
Before his hair transplant, Van der Meer was always trying to find a way to camouflage it. But after his FUE-CT hair transplant, he feels even more confident. ‘’I no longer have anything to hide. My expectations have certainly been met. I couldn’t have wished for a better result.’’
How did you come in contact with Amsterdam Hair Institute?
‘’An old teammate of mine, Sean Klaiber, had been here before and the results speak for themselves. I thought, I want that too. Especially with a clinic that has experience with top athletes. A clinic that also understands the implications of the aftercare processes and the medications that are allowed and those that are not. The quality spoke for itself. It seemed to me the only choice.’’
How did you experience the aftercare?
‘’The aftercare was excellent. It coincided with the first washing. During that, you’re guided with the medications you receive, and the shampoo and lotion you need to use and how to use them. So there’s no doubt about how to apply them most effectively. And that makes a significant difference.’’
What has changed since your hair transplant?
‘’After my FUE-CT hair transplant, I noticed that I gained much more hair, which is ultimately the goal. It simply provides a much more pleasant feeling. And I would truly recommend it to anyone.’’
Robin van der Meer is now part of a group of (former) football players who have undergone a hair transplant at Amsterdam Hair Institute, including Royston Drenthe, Ruud Gullit, Davy Klaassen, and Noussair Mazraoui.
