Erling Haaland becomes Clash of Clans character
We all know FIFA, or as it’s now called EA Sports FC. Many professional footballers are part of the game, but it’s not often that players become characters in other games. Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has become a playable character in the popular mobile video game ‘’Clash of Clans’’.
Haaland, who is named the ‘’Barbarian King’’, is the first character in the game based on the real person. The footballer is a huge fan of the game himself. ‘’When we heard Haaland was a fan of our game and that he wanted to partner with us, it was really a dream scenario,’’ said Stuart McGaw, general manager of Clash of Clans in a press release.
‘’It’s been tough to keep this one quiet, but I’m excited to finally be able to talk about this epic partnership with Clash of Clans,’’ said Haaland. ‘’I’ve been a huge fan of the game for a long time and know everything about it, so to appear as an in-game character is really cool.’’
This unique partnership is proof of Erling Haaland’s increasing popularity off the pitch. It’s not the first time a football player has become part of a non-football-related game. The hugely popular game Fortnite has also released characters based on real-life footballers in the past, including Neymar, Harry Kane and Marco Reus.
