Bang & Olufsen releases limited edition NYC-inspired speaker
Bang & Olufsen have honoured one of the world’s most iconic cities with the launch of the Beosound 1 New York Edition; a portable, wireless speaker that combines precision with minimalist design.
As always from B&O, the speaker is stunning, with a unique colour scheme that goes from Piano Black to Natural Aluminum – which is intended to reflect the rising energy of the iconic New York City skyline.
The process used to create this colour gradient is unique to the Beosound 1 New York Edition and demonstrates the unrivalled capabilities of the Bang & Olufsen aluminium plant, which has been at the forefront of aluminium technology for over half a century. Due to the nature of the process used in the making of these speakers, only 1,200 of the Beosound 1 New York Edition have been produced, making this a very limited edition product.
A portable speaker with Google Voice Assistant, this new release has a 360-degree spread of sound. The distinctive design allows the bass notes to come from below, while the opening at the top of the speaker contains an acoustic lens – a Bang & Olufsen feature – that creates evenly distributed spherical sound.
The Beosound 1 is compatible with the leading wireless streaming technologies – including Google Chromecast, Apple Airplay 2 and Bluetooth – and can function as a stand-alone speaker or be integrated into a multi-room system. It contains a built-in rechargeable battery with a maximum of 12 hours of playing time.
Stylish and multifunctional, the Beosound 1 New York Edition has a retail price of € 1,750 and will be available in limited quantities at Bang & Olufsen stores and online.
