Jondani: The New Heart of Beethovenstraat in Amsterdam

Jondani is officially open and brings the charm of Paris to vibrant Amsterdam. The restaurant combines a relaxed atmosphere with contemporary flair and offers a refined setting for a variety of occasions – from business lunches to long, cozy evenings with friends and family.

An Ode to Family

The name Jondani is the result of the special bond between two brothers, who are both proud fathers of a son. The names of their sons, Johnny and Dani, were combined to create the unique name Jondani.

Co-owner Mickey de Jong says: “The name Jondani was born from the love for our sons. It was important to us to create something that not only represents our families but also reflects the warmth and connection we want to radiate in our restaurant.”

It’s more than just a name; it’s an ode to family. This philosophy is also reflected in the brothers’ vision, where Jondani offers a personal and relaxed dining experience – ideal for families, friends, and local residents in Oud-Zuid and the nearby Zuidas.

Hospitality in Design

The interior of Jondani exudes contemporary luxury and refinement. The floor, made of marble ‘chunks’, immediately catches the eye. Mirrors enlarge the space and bring a dynamic play of light and reflection. The low bar adds a homely touch, making guests feel welcome right away.

As co-owner Yoeri de Jong puts it: “We want everyone to feel at home here, whether you’re sitting down with a business contact or with friends.”

The renowned design studio Woodfever created the design, and the lighting plan from DEP enhances it, contributing to the restaurant’s warm ambiance.

International Flair with a French Signature

Jondani’s culinary signature is international with a refined French influence. Executive chef Michael Verboom has put together a menu that highlights pure flavors and high-quality ingredients.

The Black Cod, marinated in miso for 48 hours, and the Lobster Linguine are among the absolute favorites, while the daily-changing Catch of the Day offers seasonal surprises.

Meat lovers can look forward to specialties such as the Wagyu Burger Rossini Style with foie gras and black truffle, or the tender Sirloin Steak.

To complete the taste experience, the sommelier selected a wine list that includes both approachable gems and exclusive bottles – carefully tailored to Jondani’s culinary identity.

A Refined Culinary Destination in Oud-Zuid

The restaurant welcomes guests seven days a week, from 11:00 a.m. to midnight. Indoors, there is room for around 75 guests, while the terrace offers seating for about 40.

The restaurant is a popular destination for the modern thirty-something who lives or works in Oud-Zuid and the Zuidas. Whether it’s a business lunch or a relaxed dinner, Jondani offers a culinary experience where refinement and hospitality go hand in hand.
