JB Sportmassage: Jürgen Boerleider’s Journey
Jürgen Boerleider has made recovery his life’s mission. As the founder of JB Sportmassage, the OnTh3Table podcast, and Stichting De Gouden Handen, he combines physical healing with storytelling and social awareness. His journey bridges sport, wellness, and community, proving that growth happens both on and off the table.

The Roots
Born in Suriname and raised on Bonaire, sport has always shaped Jürgen’s path. “From tennis and karate to football and kickboxing, movement was part of my life,” he says. After struggling with injuries of his own, he discovered a new passion in sport massage. “I wanted to understand how recovery works. During my training, I found my talent and the motivation to start something of my own.”
That curiosity led to the creation of JB Sportmassage, a space where listening is just as important as treatment. “Quality and attention define everything we do,” Jürgen explains. “Every client gets the same focus, whether it’s the first or tenth session.”
Beyond Recovery
Jürgen’s philosophy blends science and empathy. With experience in both football and kickboxing, he tailors his approach to each sport. “Kickboxers need full-body recovery, while footballers benefit from focusing on the lower back, hips, and legs,” he says. Working with elite athletes taught him that “talent isn’t enough. It is hard work and mental strength that makes the difference.”
That mindset inspired OnTh3Table, his podcast that brings athletes and guests into real conversations. “It started out of necessity,” he admits. “I wanted more clients, so I interviewed athletes during massages. Now it’s a platform where stories of recovery and mental health come together.”
Purpose and Legacy
Through Stichting De Gouden Handen, Jürgen extends that mission further. The foundation focuses on raising awareness about cancer, particularly within migrant communities. “It’s personal,” he says. “My uncles and aunts are my legends. I want them, and many others, to live longer and healthier lives.”
Looking ahead, Jürgen aims to grow JB Sportmassage and expand OnTh3Table internationally. For him, it all connects to one belief: “Life after football, or after sport, is not an ending. It’s a new chapter built on everything you’ve learned.”
