Vanity Lewerissa, born on April 1st of 1991 in Maastricht, made her senior debut in 2010 with VVV-Venlo and went on to light up clubs like Standard Liège, PSV, Ajax, and a final spell back at Liège. She scored prolifically — 41 goals in 59 games at Standard, and 34 goals in 52 caps at PSV. Internationally, she earned 11 caps for the Netherlands, was part of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2017–winning squad, and received a royal honour alongside her teammates.
Off the Pitch
Lewerissa battled and recovered from breast cancer in 2022 before returning to play. She began coaching youth teams at MVV and Fortuna Sittard before retiring in May 2024. By July 2024, she became head coach of Fortuna Sittard’s women’s reserve side. Now, she blends coaching with personal resilience — showing that leadership can grow from struggle.
