On the Pitch
Kik Pierie, born in Boston in 2000, built a career as a composed left-footed centre-back. He came through Heerenveen’s youth ranks before making his Eredivisie debut in 2017, going on to record 62 appearances and two goals for the club. In 2019 he transferred to Ajax, where he gained further experience with Jong Ajax and on loan at Twente and Excelsior. Pierie signed permanently with Excelsior in 2023, contributing solidly in defense while adding three goals in 20 matches. Having represented the Netherlands at youth levels up to U20, he was noted for his leadership and reliability. Pierie retired from professional football in 2024 and has since launched Kikstart Capital, his own investment firm, marking a new chapter off the pitch.
Off the Pitch
Off the field, Pierie maintains a disciplined, family-oriented lifestyle. He grew up under a former Dutch field hockey player and professor father, instilling him with a strong work ethic. He’s also pursued education and invests time in financial interests — he’s even mentioned enjoying coffee and investing posts on social media . Quiet yet charismatic, he engages in youth mentoring in Rotterdam and demonstrates maturity beyond his years. As he solidifies his place at Excelsior, Kik appears ready to grow into a future team leader — on and off the pitch.
