G-STAR FW26 Returns Back to its Source

G-STAR revealed its FW26 collection during Spotlight Returns, a fashion show held at RAWFACTORY, the brand’s global headquarters in Amsterdam. By returning to the place where design, research and archive meet, the show brought the focus back to the foundations of the brand. It was a moment that highlighted denim not as a trend, but as a constant at the centre of G-STAR’s identity.

Back at RAWFACTORY

G-STAR FW26 is presented as a continuous show rather than a traditional runway, with menswear and womenswear appearing together throughout. Structured in chapters yet unfolding as a single narrative, the format reflects the brand’s current approach to denim: instinctive, considered and driven by purpose.

By staging the show at RAWFACTORY, G-STAR reconnects with its point of origin, using the space not just as a venue but as a reflection of how the collection was developed.

From Experiment to Foundation

The show opened with RAW RESEARCH, introduced by artist Frenna and shaped by designers Lisi and Rushemy Botter. This first chapter focused on experimentation, using denim as a material to test form, proportion and construction. Seams were shifted, volumes pushed, and surfaces left raw or treated with technical finishes. From untreated indigo to coated and bonded fabrics, the emphasis stayed on process and material rather than decoration.

As the collection moved forward, that experimental energy gradually made room for ARCHETYPES. Here, G-STAR turned to its archive and core design principles. Heavier denim, functional detailing and refined construction came together in pieces built for longevity. Articulated shapes, reinforced seams and considered pocket placement reflected the brand’s belief that modern denim should be both practical and precise.

Design with Direction

A familiar G-STAR signature returned with purpose during FW26: the Arc. First introduced in 2007, the iconic twisted-leg design remains one of the brand’s most recognisable innovations. For this season, it reappears in updated loose and slim fits, continuing to challenge traditional denim silhouettes.

Womenswear also took a more central position within the collection. Strength and femininity were balanced through sculptural tailoring, utility influences and clean lines. Denim was shaped with confidence, not softened, marking a clear shift in how women are represented within the brand’s core language.

Sound completed the experience. Fragmented voice-over elements from an interview with Anton Corbijn moved through the space, adding atmosphere rather than explanation. By presenting the collection at RAWFACTORY, G-STAR closed the loop between design, environment and execution, reinforcing that Spotlight Returns was about focus and direction, not reinvention.
