Throwback: Sergio Aguero makes dream debut for Man City

On August 15th 2011, the now Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero was simply an intriguing new signing for the Premier League club, as they embarked on a new era at the club.

The Argentine forward joined for a fee on around £35 million from Atletico Madrid and made a huge impact from the start, as this debut showed. Coming on as a sub on the hour mark, City were leading one-nil and looking to consolidate their lead against a talented Swansea side. As it turns out, it was a perfect sub from manager, Roberto Mancini…

These debut strikes were the start of what would be an amazing journey in Manchester that is still going on. That debut season ended in the most incredible way, as with the scores tied on the final day of the season against QPR, he scored that goal to take the title away from Manchester United and give his new side their first-ever Premier League trophy.

In 2017, Aguero became the club’s all-time record goalscorer, netting his 178th goal against Napoli. Still part of the club’s attacking options, we can expect more goals from this legendary striker this season.
