‘SEAMUS’ – The story of the Premier League’s biggest-ever bargain
A couple of years ago, Everton’s Seamus Coleman formed one of the best fullback partnerships in the Premier League with Leighton Baines. The Irishman is often referred to as the biggest bargain in Premier League history after Everton bought him from Sligo Rovers in 2009 for just £60,000. Fifteen years later, Coleman still players for the Merseyside club and has made over 400 appearances. Now, Everton has released a documentary on the career and life of their icon.
The documentary SEAMUS, which is free to watch on YouTube, explores Coleman’s journey from his early years in Killybegs to cementing his place in Toffee’s history as an unforgettable figure. The story is told through the words of himself and those who know him best, including former Everton full-back Leighton Baines, his former manager David Moyes, and Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
