Quincy Promes to sign for Ajax

Transfer season is well and truly underway and in the Netherlands, Ajax has just made one of the signings of the summer so far.

Following up on the achievements of last season, there hasn’t been a better time to strengthen for Ajax in years and are doing just that, snapping up Quincy Promes for an initial fee of around 16 million euros.

A former youth player at Ajax, Promes will return to Amsterdam as a much more complete and experienced player than when he left, after spells at Spartak Moscow and Sevilla. Now a regular for the Dutch national side, he enjoyed a good start to this summer in the UEFA Nations League, and the feel-good vibes are set to continue as he links up with Ajax.

Having splashed out Tadic and Blind last summer, such moves in the transfer market are likely to excite many Amsterdammers.
