PSG pay tribute to Notre Dame with jerseys

The world was stunned last week when one of the most famous buildings in Europe caught fire.

Masses amounts of damage to a historic site were the result of the Notre Dame fires, but with the generosity of many across the world, funds have been raised to aid the reparation efforts. Amongst those donating are the recently crowned Ligue 1 champions PSG, whose special jerseys have been raising funds for the tragedy that occurred in their own city.

The words ‘Notre Dame’ replaced the player names on the back of the jerseys where the names such as Neymar Jr and Mbappe would usually be, whilst a graphic of the famous cathedral was showcased on the front. In the game itself against AS Monaco, Kylian Mbappe netted a hat-trick – a useful way of raising the profile of this gesture.

Shirts of this kind are going at retail price, but with 10 euros from each sale going to the Notre Dame fund.
