Nike release retro third kits for Spurs and Chelsea
Nike have created some of the most minimal and stylish looks of the season for their respective clubs so far, but have gone full retro with these new Spurs and Chelsea kits.
Using the old school Nike logo with the typeface included above the swoosh, there are reference points in both of these new releases to older shirts. For Chelsea, the inclusion of some orange is a nod to an old 1994/96 away shirt, whilst the collar used is similar to Nike shirts of the 90s. The likes of PSG famously had a shirt with a collar similar to that modelled by Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount.
As for Tottenham, their button collar is similar to an old shirt manufactured by Pony, a brand no longer seen anywhere near the Premier League, and also an away strip by Umbro back in the day. Coming in a vibrant blue, the shirt also has that classic Nike Futura logo for a helping of retro. Modelled by grime superstar, AJ Tracey, one of Spurs’ most famous fans, you can expect the North London club to wear this during yet another Champions League campaign.
