Leonid Slutsky backs his player for fashion award

Life After Football announced the nominees for the Fashion Player Award 2019 this week, with Vitesse’s Navarone Foor up for the annual honour.

It seems that the midfielder has already got the support of one major voter, as his manager Leonid Slutsky has taken to Instagram to show his ‘support.’ Slutsky has encouraged people to vote for Navarone, posting a stylish black and white photo of his player.

But swipe right, and you’ll find some smart Photoshop work from someone at Vitesse! Navarone Foor’s face has been edited onto various fashion poses as Slutsky clearly sees the funny side of Foor’s venture into the fashion world.

However, this isn’t the first time that the former Russia manager has had a bit of fun on Instagram. In September, following a post-match interview in which he criticised a referee, he shared the following edit of himself turned into a rapper.

Leonid Slutsky clearly has a good sense of humour which is great to see at the highest level. Also, sharing Navarone Foor’s plea for votes to his 200k followers will not harm the midfielder’s chances of winning our award, either.

Foor is up against Shanice van de Sanden, Andre Onana, Rai Vloet and Ritsu Doan for the prize. The winner will be announced on November 4th in Amsterdam. Finally, if you want to cast your vote for the 2019 Fashion Player Award in association with Hugo Boss and Schaffrath, head to our voting page.
