Antoine Griezmann to sign a boot deal with Decathlon?
After Antoine Griezmann’s boot deal with PUMA ended, the footballer of Atletico Madrid has been linked with many different manufacturers over the last few months, including adidas and Nike. However, it seems as though Decathlon has managed to secure a deal with the French football star.
During a friendly match against Juventus, the attacker was spotted wearing blacked-out football boots that did not feature an obvious logo. However, some people believe that this pair is very similar to Decathlon’s KIPSTA CLR boot.
It’s a big move for the French sporting goods retailer if the deal will be made official soon. It’s not often a big name in the football industry sports a football boot that is not made by Nike, adidas or PUMA. Decathlon has become more involved in football in recent years. They are manufacturing the Ligue 1 ball this season, the kits of Belgian football clubs RWD Molenbeek, Sporting Charleroi and Sporting Hasselt, and have a deal with the UEFA to make the Europa League and Conference League balls from the 2025/26 season.
It’s not the first time a footballer has shocked the world with his boot deal. Last year, Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane signed a lifetime multi-million-pound boot deal with Skechers, a company that had never made football boots before. Since then West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus, Arsenal footballer Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga have been among other players to also join the Skechers family.
