This summer, football finds its most beautiful home. From July 23 to 27, the shores of Lake Como will transform into the vibrant stage for Football On The Lake — a brand-new international festival blending world-class football, music, culinary delights, and cultural experiences in one of the most iconic settings in the world.
With the shimmering lake as a backdrop and the Alps rising in the distance, this five-day celebration isn’t just about football. It’s about living the sport in full colour.
The Como Cup
At the heart of Football On The Lake is the Como Cup — a knockout-style tournament hosted at the historic Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, home of Como 1907.
Four top clubs from three continents will battle it out for glory:
- AFC Ajax – Dutch giants and Europa League contenders.
- Al-Ahli Saudi FC – Reigning AFC Champions League Elite winners.
- Celtic FC – Scottish champions and European mainstays.
- Como 1907 – Recently promoted to Serie A, playing on home soil.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers shared his excitement about the invitation: “This is a great opportunity for the club to join in a really exciting tournament in the north of Italy, a place where football has such a huge focus.”
