The most beautiful football shirts released in September
As the football season kicks into high gear, Life After Football has been keeping a keen eye on all new arrivals of football kits in September. Last month saw the release of some striking designs and unique collaborations. These are our four favourites.
Manchester City’s x OASIS football kit
2024 marks 30 years since Oasis released their highly successful album ‘Definitely Maybe’. To celebrate the anniversary, and to excite fans about the recent return of Oasis, Manchester City has co-designed a football shirt with Oasis’ Noel Gallagher. The shirt will be Manchester City’s fourth kit and is inspired by the iconic album cover. The ‘Definitely City’ inscription in Noel Gallagher’s handwriting on the back of the neck is a great addition.
Brooklyn FC’s Home kit
The newly established football club Brooklyn FC released its home kit for 2024/25. The club, whose women’s team plays in the USL Super League and whose men’s team will play in the USL Championship, partnered with Diaza and opted for a black shirt with grey/silver pinstripes. The most eye-catching part of the shirt, however, is the ‘Liquid Death’ sponsor on the front.
Bayern Munich Oktoberfest kit
As the entire world is now eagerly visiting Munich for its yearly Oktoberfest, Bayern Munich decided to capitalise on the event by releasing a special Oktoberfest kit. A diamond pattern enriches the grey kit and perfectly fits the current trend of football kits in streetwear. The shirt was first worn in Bayern’s highly anticipated home game against reigning champions Bayer Leverkusen on September 28th.
Olympique Marseille’s 125th-anniversary kit
The French football giants Olympique Marseille has created a minimalistic kit that refers to the shirts worn by the club at the beginning of the last century. The all-white kit, which also has all logos of technical and commercial sponsors in white, features the emblem OM used in the year of the club’s foundation. The small details make this shirt even greater, such as the hidden founding year on the sleeve cuffs or the original wax seal symbol on the back.
