F.C.Real Bristol x Carhartt WIP Blends Football and Function
The F.C.Real Bristol x Carhartt WIP collaboration brings together two worlds that have long moved close to football culture. Marking their first project together, the Tokyo-based label and Carhartt WIP have created a capsule that blends sportswear-inspired apparel, accessories and football memorabilia into one sharply defined release. What makes it stand out is the way it connects performance, everyday wear and a fictional football identity.

A Fictional Club With Real Influence
Founded in 1999 under SOPH., F.C.Real Bristol is built around the idea of a fictional football club. The label was created ahead of the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Japan. This was a response to an area that still felt largely untouched at the time: football apparel designed not just for the pitch, but for the everyday life as well.
Since then, F.C.Real Bristol has developed collections for fictional players and supporters alike. These range from match kits and training gear to recovery wear. Its identity draws on the UK’s deep football roots while also referencing the creative communities and music scenes linked to the city of Bristol.

Performance Meets Carhartt WIP Codes
The debut F.C.Real Bristol x Carhartt capsule is anchored in F.C.Real Bristol‘s performance-driven shapes and fabrics, reworked through Carhartt WIP’s visual language. The collection uses core Carhartt WIP shades including Dusty Hamilton Brown, wax, navy and black, finished with co-branded jacquard webbing.
Styles include varsity jackets in thick interlock, warm-up jackets in lightweight nylon satin. Also, game shirts and short made in moisture-wicking weaves have been released. Alongside that, the drop also includes a knitted supporter scarf, socks, a canvas cap, a custom football and even brown rubber duck, giving the collection a playful layer beyond the clothing itself.

More Than a Product Drop
What adds another dimension to the release is the campaign around it. Shot by Theodor Guelat, the accompanying visuals channel a surreal and abstract vision of football. Through a non-linear narrative, the campaign strips football back to its emotional core. Rather than focusing only on performance, it leans into ritual, shared passion and the feeling that sits underneath the sport.
The collection launched on 10 April through select global retailers, Carhartt WIP stores, the Carhartt WIP App, as well as SOPH. shops and the SOPH. online store. To mark the release, a series of public table football tournaments took place. The matches were held across Amsterdam, Barcelona, Kuala Lumpur, London, Milan, New York City, Paris, Seoul, Tokyo, and Toronto from 9 to 10 April. That rollout gives the collaboration a broader cultural footprint, placing it directly into cities where football and style already meet.
The strength of F.C.Real Bristol x Carhartt WIP lies in how naturally it connects function, football and contemporary culture. It is a collaboration built on shared references. But also on a shared understanding that football style has long moved far beyond the 90 minutes on the pitch.
