It had been three years since Life After Football traveled to Ibiza with friends and family to record Footvolley Ibiza in 2019. In 2022, this special event returned with a new edition. Together with a group that felt like family, we embarked on a memorable journey to Hammamet, Tunisia.
The event took place on the pristine beaches of the 5-star resort, The Orangers Garden. The tournament featured a stellar lineup of former professional footballers:
The matches were fiercely contested under the Tunisian sun, with enthusiastic spectators filling the stands. Ultimately, the father-son duo, Robin and Shaqueel van Persie, emerged victorious, showcasing that football talent indeed runs in the family.
Beyond the competition, participants had the opportunity to explore Tunisia’s rich culture and history. Highlights included visits to the ancient city of Carthage and the picturesque town of Sidi Bou Said, known for its distinctive blue and white architecture.
