Edwin van der Sar Becomes a New Ambassador for Tickets for Good

A life dedicated to the team — on the pitch, behind the scenes, and now, for those who are always there when it truly matters. Edwin van der Sar has joined Tickets for Good as an ambassador. The platform offers healthcare professionals the opportunity to enjoy sport, music, theatre, and the arts.

A New Perspective After the Game

The legendary goalkeeper, who played for clubs such as Ajax and Manchester United, has always had an eye for the bigger picture. Van der Sar knows better than most what it means to depend on others. After suffering a brain haemorrhage in 2023, he experienced first-hand the strength, dedication, and quiet heroism of healthcare professionals. That experience left a deep impact and now connect him to the mission of Tickets for Good.

A Small Gesture with Powerful Meaning

Healthcare professionals are the real heroes,” says Van der Sar. “As a player and executive, I’ve learned how essential teamwork is. But it wasn’t until the stillness after my brain hemorrhage that I truly realised how vital these people are. By giving them access to cultural and sporting experiences, we show our gratitude. It’s a small gesture with a powerful meaning.”

From the Pitch to Purpose

Tickets for Good was launched in the United Kingdom in 2019 and has since provided over a million tickets to people who make a difference. The platform expanded to the Netherlands in early 2025 and has already offered more than 180,000 healthcare professionals access to unique experiences — from concerts to Formula 1 events.

Bridging Sport and Social Impact

With Van der Sar as an ambassador of Tickets for Good, the bridge between sport and social impact becomes even stronger. This partnership is rooted in a shared mission: to give back to those who rarely stand in the spotlight but are always ready to support others.

It’s inspiring to see the former goalkeeper using his platform to support this collective initiative — something far greater than the game itself.
