Decathlon to Become Sole Owner of DECATHLON AG2R LA MONDIALE Cycling Team

From the 2025 season onward, Decathlon will become the sole owner of the professional cycling team currently known as DECATHLON AG2R LA MONDIALE. The move marks the end of a nearly 30-year journey for AG2R LA MONDIALE. The insurance company has served as a foundational sponsor and team owner since 1997. The ownership transfer reflects a mutual commitment to ensuring the team continues to grow in both performance and impact. It also underscores Decathlon’s long-term strategic goal: not only to sponsor top-tier cycling but to help shape its future.

A Legacy of Performance and Shared Values

AG2R LA MONDIALE leaves behind a legacy defined by sporting excellence, consistency, and human values. From 2000 onward, the insurance company was the team’s main sponsor, and in 2022, it became its sole owner. Their partnership helped build one of France’s most iconic cycling teams, rooted in ambition, teamwork, and athlete development.

The transition to Decathlon’s full ownership has been in the making since 2024, when both companies launched a co-naming partnership. Since then, they have worked together on a shared vision focused on innovation, high performance, and integrity. With 16 victories and 46 podium finishes already in the 2025 season, the team is entering its next chapter with strong momentum.

The full handover will take place at the end of 2025. Until then, both partners are committed to a smooth transition — ensuring continuity in leadership, staffing, and support for the riders.

Product teams, engineers, and designers collaborate closely to prototype, validate, and bring to market bikes under Decathlon’s leading brands like Rockrider, Triban, and Van Rysel.

The B’Twin Village includes state-of-the-art testing labs to ensure compliance with — and often exceed — international standards. This integrated approach shortens time to market while maximising quality and innovation.
