Adidas Unveils the Trionda World Cup Ball for 2026
Every World Cup tells its own story. Through the players, the goals and the ball that carries them. From the Tango España in 1982 to the Al Rihla in 2022, each design has marked a moment in football history. Now, with Trionda, Adidas introduces the official match ball for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, symbolising unity across three nations and the waves of energy that define the world’s biggest tournament.

Iconic Legacy
For decades, World Cup balls have captured the essence of the tournaments they represent. The Tango, Brazuca, Telstar and Al Rihla each told a story about innovation, style and the global reach of football. Few objects in sport are as instantly recognisable or as deeply linked to memories of triumph.
Now, the Trionda World Cup ball joins this legacy. It will debut at a World Cup tournament that unites 48 teams for the first time in history, a change from the usual 32. Trionda will shine bright across Canada, Mexico and the United States, on a stage where legends meet and dreams collide.
Introducing Trionda
The name Trionda translates from Spanish as “three waves”, a tribute to the three host nations. Its flowing design takes inspiration from the iconic “La Ola” wave, first seen at North American stadiums. This represents the movement and emotion that define the sport. The ball’s red, green and blue colours honour the three countries, featuring a maple leaf for Canada, an eagle for Mexico and a star for the United States.
Engineered with precision, Trionda features a four-panel structure with deep seams for optimal flight stability and grip. It also includes embossed details that enhance touch in humid conditions. What’s more, its built-in 500Hz motion sensor chip continues Adidas’s connected ball technology, providing real-time data to referees for sharper in-game decisions.
The Wait is On
As the countdown to 2026 begins, the Trionda World Cup ball stands ready to roll across the continent. From the first whistle to the final, it will carry the hopes of nations and the dreams of players chasing glory. Perhaps the next unforgettable World Cup run will come from a country no one expects. It serves as a reminder that, in football, anything is possible.
