adidas Is Now Making Football Shirts For Your Pet

Football merchandising has reached almost every part of everyday life. Shirts became streetwear, club crests moved onto sneakers and homeware, and collaborations increasingly look more like fashion drops than traditional fan products. Now, adidas has found one more member of the household to dress. adidas has launched its new Clubs Pet Collection, translating the colours and identities of some of the world’s biggest football clubs into jerseys and accessories designed specifically for dogs and cats.

Seven Clubs, One Very Different Supporter

The collection includes Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Benfica, Club América, Liverpool, Manchester United and Real Madrid, marking the first time adidas and this group of clubs have come together for a dedicated pet range.

The obvious highlights are the miniature jerseys. Rather than simply shrinking a normal shirt, adidas says the pieces have been adapted to pet proportions and are offered across several sizes.

That means a Real Madrid supporter can now put their dog in club colours before kick-off, while Liverpool, United or Arsenal fans can do exactly the same.

It sounds like novelty merchandise, but it also says something about how wide football fandom has become.

More Than Mini Skirts

adidas has gone further than jerseys.

The range also includes club-branded collars and pet carriers, turning the collection into something closer to a complete lifestyle line. The idea is not only to dress pets for a matchday photo but to bring football identity into everyday objects that owners actually use.

It follows a much wider shift in football merchandise. Supporting a club increasingly extends beyond owning the home shirt. Clubs and sportswear brands now sell fashion collections, luggage, accessories, furniture and products that have very little to do with playing football.

A Real Madrid dog collar might be one of the clearest examples yet.

Football for the Whole Family

There is also an obvious reason why the collection works so well visually.

Football fandom is often passed through families. Parents buy shirts for children before they are old enough to understand the offside rule, houses fill up with club memorabilia and matchday becomes part of a weekly routine.

For many people, pets sit somewhere inside that family structure too.

adidas is essentially taking an existing habit, namely dressing pets and buying them accessories, and adding football allegiance to it.

The result is the kind of product that makes perfect sense on social media. You recognise the Manchester United red or Real Madrid white immediately. It just happens to be worn by someone considerably more interested in treats than the Champions League.

The New Face of Football Merch

The collection may be playful, but the bigger idea behind it is serious. Football clubs are no longer simply sports teams selling sportswear. They increasingly operate as global lifestyle brands, and every extension of that identity creates another way for supporters to express belonging.

Pet jerseys will not change football culture. But they are a pretty good indication of just how far football culture now reaches.
