This season, five names stood out across fashion, design, hospitality and culture.
Carhartt WIP lands in Spiegelkwartier
Carhartt WIP has opened a new Amsterdam store at Nieuwe Spiegelstraat 34, right in the middle of the historic Spiegelkwartier. The 230-square-metre space sits inside a former art gallery, which explains its clean white-cube feel, mixed with the industrial details Carhartt WIP is known for.
Inside, the store brings together concrete fixtures, exposed ductwork, glass vitrines and a five-metre commissioned artwork by Amsterdam-based artist Nazif Lopulissa. Two life-sized marble Carhartt WIP Boogeymen at the entrance make sure the space feels more like a cultural stop than just another shop.
Sebago brings its 80th anniversary to the canals
Sebago is celebrating 80 years of heritage with an international Boat Tour, and Amsterdam became part of the story in late May. The brand, founded in Maine in 1946, is best known for its timeless loafers and nautical-inspired Docksides.
To mark the anniversary, Sebago brought a boat shaped like its iconic Docksides shoe to the Amsterdam canals. The electric vessel, once owned by the brand’s founder, became a floating tribute to craftsmanship, water culture and classic American style.
Messika is coming to P.C. Hoofdstraat
Amsterdam’s luxury scene is also getting a new name. GASSAN and French jewellery house Messika will open the first Messika boutique in the Netherlands at the end of 2026, located on the P.C. Hooftstraat.
Known for modern diamond designs and the signature Move collection, Messika brings a less traditional, more playful energy to fine jewellery. With names like Beyoncé, Bella Hadid and Julianne Moore connected to the brand, its arrival adds another international layer to Amsterdam’s most famous luxury shopping street.
The Manor Hotel reopens with Cruijff history
The Manor Hotel Amsterdam has officially reopened on Linnaeusstraat as part of the Leonardo Limited Edition collection. Set inside the former Burgerziekenhuis, the building carries a unique piece of Amsterdam history: it is the birthplace of Johan Cruijff.
After a full renovation, The Manor now combines monumental details with casual luxury, mid-century inspired rooms and a warm, residential feel. With PepeNero opening its second Amsterdam location under the same roof, the hotel becomes more than a place to stay. It is now a new meeting point for locals, travellers and design lovers in Amsterdam-Oost.
AS Colour chooses Amsterdam for Europe
New Zealand apparel brand AS Colour has chosen Amsterdam for its first European store. Located in De Negen Straatjes, the shop marks the brand’s Dutch debut and its 28th store worldwide.
Since 2005, AS Colour has built its reputation around premium blank apparel: clean basics designed around fit, fabric and finish. Its pieces are worn as wardrobe staples, but also used as merchandise by artists including Taylor Swift, Drake, Coldplay, Armin van Buuren and Roxy Dekker. The Amsterdam opening gives the brand a physical base for its wider European growth.
