Hop in, it’s Wednesday Wheels. And this week, we’re looking at the first ever SUV from SEAT; the Ateca.
Starting with arguably the most striking of all the features of this forward-thinking car, the exterior is gorgeous. The SEAT Ateca takes on the everyday confidently with a distinctive and dynamic style that comes from the sharp exterior lines, crafting that Spanish charm that the brand is known for. They aren’t however known for SUVs, more so their compact, stylish vehicles. This, though, may be about to change.
Still fit for the city slickers, this car still carries the characteristics of a SEAT in that it is a ‘compact’ SUV, boasting all sorts of gadgets and features that make urban life on city roads the most stress-free it can be. Traffic Jam Assist will have you in the know about what roads are moving and which aren’t, whilst blind spot detection will keep you at your safe driving best. Vigorous safety tests also have been carried out on all the Atecas, meaning that these cars are extremely safe. This combined with the space and comfort that the SUV allows, is making this vehicle a popular one with young families.
Performance-wise, the Ateca FR is where it is at. Sports alloys on this model give the Ateca an even more striking look, whilst a choice of engines ranging up to 2.0 litres with a 7-speed automatic gearbox makes this car incredibly satisfying to drive. Black Alcantara sports seats ensure you look and feel comfortable whilst doing so, completing the styling of this attractive motor with the finer details of the interior. An ergonomically designed centre console is the epitome of modern day SEAT; innovative, forward-thinking and making life easier – as is the wireless phone charger, a piece of subtle genius from the designers.
