Nigeria has been a focal point of popular, fashion and football culture this week, as the launch of the country’s stunning World Cup kits, Skepta’s homecoming and now this Off-White and Vivendii collab has all gone on in the African nation.
Nike has been at the centre of so much of it, with them and Off-White’s continuing collaboration helping Virgil Abloh’s brand edge into football even more. This week, they’ve added Nigerian streetwear label, Vivendii into the mixt to produce an exclusive and pretty special football jersey. So that’s Nike x Off-White x Vivendii.
The trio of brands threw their respective cultures together at a three-day pop-up to promote the Nigeria 2018 World Cup collection, with the Super Eagles’ kits being lauded as the finest shirt we’ll see in Russia this summer. The event in Lagos, Nigeria’s capital, was curated by Grace Ladoga and Nike, and featured brands such as Patta and Skepta’s Mains, along with Off-White and a host of local labels of which Vivendii is very revered.
The only shame is, these special shirts aren’t actually going to be on sale any time soon. The best you can do is keep an eye on them via Instagram at the moment. But who knows? Maybe someday the whole world can enjoy the football shirt to come from this triple collab.
