Timed perfectly with not just the football season, but the fashion season too, ‘Off The Pitch’ is a photo essay that displays the place that football jerseys have in fashion today.
Shot by Carlos Quinteros Jr and The Photographic Journal, an array of classic shirts from Europe’s biggest clubs feature in this photo essay. Liverpool, Arsenal, Ajax and Real Madrid are among those used, with shirts across various eras such as a Platini-looking Juve shirt and a Henry-era Arsenal top. However, one of the standout shirts used has to be that of FC Copenhagen!
The Danish club’s old school Umbro jersey has all the makings of a cult-classic. The diamond, hooped detailings on the sleeve, the lace up collar and amazingly detailed, textured look of this shirt… an astounding piece of football fashion and a real gem of a find from the people behind the shoot.
You can see the full collection at The Photographic Journal and, it’s quite likely that you’re going to see plenty more of the influence that football is having on fashion throughout the whole season.
