#ManOfTheWeekend: Edison Cavani

It was yet another good weekend for PSG as the side packed full of stars performed once again, this time beating Angers by five goals to nil away from home.

Dressed in their yellow away strip, they were like flashes of lightning, counter-attacking with amazing pace and punishing their opponents over and over. In some ways, it was a fairly routine match for the Parisians, but not for their striker, Edison Cavani.

The big Uruguayan has established himself as one of the biggest names at the club over the past four seasons, being one of the first big-money moves to the French capital along with Zlatan and co. He’s played out on the left-wing, been threatened to be replaced by the incoming Neymar and been man-marked by some of the biggest defenders in France since arriving. However, this weekend he scored his 100th goal for PSG – no minor achievement – but he scored his 101st goal, too.

PSG were already two up when Cavani netted his 100th goal in France’s top flight, hitting Angers on the break with the electrifying pace of Kylian Mpabbe. Our man of the weekend owes a lot to the 18-year-old as he made a skilful assist, backheeling it to Cavani who smashed it home.

A second emphatic finish in the second half made it 4-0 to PSG and made it 101 goals in Ligue 1 for Edison Cavani, our Man of the Weekend. Congratulations, Edison.
