This week’s LAF PLAYLIST comes from a newly crowned Dutch Cup winner; Feyenoord’s Sven van Beek.
The centre-back was part of the squad that triumphed to a 3-0 win at De Kuip on Sunday so this, the latest instalment of our footballers’ playlists, is a winning soundtrack.
His selection starts with Niet Alleen, the popular hit from Dutch rapper, Kevin, as Sven begins his playlist with some hip-hop from his homeland before moving into the 6 God, Drake. God’s Plan is a fittingly victorious track on this playlist as Sven and his Feyenoord teammates must be on a high following an epic weekend.
This is followed by Josylvio, another Dutch rapper who brings an international vibe to this playlist. Of Egyptian descent, Josylvio’s Catch Up has a world music vibe to it, sounding like some sunny summer music – perfect as the season winds down. Ronnie Flex follows a popular artist on many of these LAF PLAYLISTS, bringing more summer vibes on his track Fan with singer, Famke Louis.
Next Sven takes us stateside with one of the men of the hour, Post Malone. The rapper/singer/rockstar released one of the biggest albums of 2017 and Psycho, a 2018 release featuring Ty Dolla $ign suggests that this year will be another great one from Posty.
Taking that international flavour further, Sven van Beek has chosen the Ghanaian hip-hop artist, Sarkodie to take over from Post Malone. His tune, Adonai, is an African, bilingual banger from 2014 and is one of the biggest hits from a true legend of African music.
Finally, he wraps up the playlist with a track from the up and coming rapper, Tdot illdude. The American is one to watch, certainly, and this track Don’t Knock On My Door, was featured on the Netflix basketball film, Amateur. Worth a listen and maybe a worth watch, too.
