For this edition of LAF PLAYLIST, we’ve got Excelsior’s Ryan Koolwijk to pick a selection of his favourite music right now.
Following on from Miquel Nelom last week, the Rotterdammer has picked a nice helping of Dutch music in his playlsit, but starts it off with hits from Nicki Minaj and one featuring Drake.
The first is Pills N Potions from the rapper’s 2014 album, The Pinkprint, before he takes us into BlocBoy’s JB’s Look Alive, with that aforementioned Drake feature – has there ever been a LAF PLAYLIST without the 6 God?
Next, we get into some Ir Sais. The Dutch artists’ Dream Girl provides a change of tempo, before this sound continues via Sarz’ track from last year, Get Up. The dancey tune features more talent in the form of DJ Tunez and Flash, who help to make this the well-rounded song that it is – a fine addition to Ryan’s selection of music.
A more chilled out track then comes from Rotterdam artist, Kevin. The rapper’s heartfelt song, Tijdloos, brings with it a chilled out flow from Kevin, who delivers his lyrics on a slow tempo and subtly trap-inspired beat. Finally, Koolwijk’s playlist is rounded off by a track from SFB. The Dutch group appear here on a LAF PLAYLIST and not for the first time. On this occasion, it’s their popular song Lovely Body that features some Dutch hip-hop royalty in Ronnie Flex.
