H&M’s Holiday 2017 menswear sees formalwear and sportswear freely borrowing silhouettes and materials from one another.
The collection is ideal for the holiday season ahead, with some really smart looks keeping an essence of casual and crucially, comfort, within the many materials included. The excitement that fashion-lovers have for layering when winter comes around is here, and this new collection from H&M opens up plenty of potential for experimenting with that.
“In the same way that the relationship between the catwalk and street style has become increasingly symbiotic, the divide between evening wear and daywear is dissolving and that makes dressing for the holiday season even more compelling this year,” says Andreas Löwenstam, H&M’s Head of Menswear Design.
For the perfect holiday look, menswear classics such as a single-breasted overcoat, tuxedo blazer and button-up shirts team up with soft, comfortable sporty separates such as sweatshirts and hoodies and take on a more relaxed vibe. The statement varsity jacket is paired with a half-zip knit top and tailored trousers that feature piping.
The colour palette is perfectly captured in the photography for this lookbook, with black, navy and shades of grey as the foundation amongst a natural, forest-like backdrop. Camel and plum are the lively accents that together with the dark shades allude to a modern and masculine attitude, culminating in one of the strongest looks we’ve seen for the holiday season.
