As the World Cup has just started, it is the perfect moment for FIFA Worldwide Partner Emirates to introduce a very special airplane. Yesterday, the first 100% WORLD CUP-style Boeing 777-300ER was revealed, bearing the signature of three-time World Cup winner and Emirates Global Ambassador Pelé. The aircraft will be put into operation this summer on the route between Dubai and São Paolo. On 12 June, the day of the first game, two more Boeing 777 Pelé-anes will be introduced, followed by an Airbus 380 shortly after.
The Pelé-anes are easy to spot, both on the ground and in the air. The creative design on the fuselage of the aircraft, with its 350 seats, is in line with the FIFA World Cup and features the signature of football great Pelé. To let football fans get the most out of their trip to the World Cup, 115 Boeing 777s from the Emirates fleet also feature a huge 2014 FIFA World Cup logo. The airline expects more than 18,000 passengers on its daily flights to Rio de Janeiro and São Paolo during the World Cup.
