Last night was arguably the biggest glamour tie of the Champions League so far, as the might of Real Madrid met Europe’s biggest challenge to the traditional superpowers, PSG.
The man of the night, maybe (not for the first time), Cristiano Ronaldo, was wearing the Nike Mercurial Superfly 360s, designed in collaboration with British fashion star, Kim Jones. A former creative director at LV, Jones’ had added a touch of extra special stylings to CR7’s boots which became available to purchase as of half-time in the match.
With cheetah print detailing, it’s so hidden message that these boots connote all the speed and power that you’d expect from a Mercurial boot from Nike and of CR7 – so a perfect match.
And for Real Madrid, it really was a perfect match. With their opponents robbed of Neymar due to injury and lacking the experience of Los Blancos; a side who have won three Champions League titles in recent years, PSG were outclassed. And such an occasion, with a galaxy of stars and big transfer fees running around, was marked by one of the most talked-about pairs of football boots in recent years.
