It was the most iconic boot of its time. Worn by the likes of Zidane, Gerrard and of course, David Beckham, adidas’ Predator was THE football boot for decades. And now, it’s back.
The DNA of the Predator is still the same, with simplicty in its stunning design and high-performance still the priority. However, the Predator 18+ has an identity of football’s future. Extremely lightweight and worn by the icons of today, it is a boot for tomorrow to add to the rich history of adidas the Predator. The new Predator 18+ 360 Control will be adorned by international stars such as Pogba, Ozil and James Rodriguez, as well as Dutch internationals such as Blind, Cillessen, Wijnaldum, Dost, Toornstra and De Ligt.
The Predator 18+ 360 Control is launched with a renewed Primeknit Sockfit Collar, giving the foot good support and holding it in place through the rigours of the modern game. Because of the Purecut system, the shoe has no laces and ball control on the instep is not just maintained, but better than ever. A new Control frame has been designed for the Predator, consisting of several polyamide layers. A Boost midsole gives every step taken, every blade of grass touched, an extra boost of energy for the player wearing them.
Next to the football shoe, there will also be a version for street football players and Predator will be introduced as a lifestyle sneaker, touching all markets and all the needs of the modern footballer. Similar to the Beckham-designed reboot of the famous football shoe recently, the aim is to provide a Predator for the pitch, for the cage and for the street.
The Predator is back and, just as in it’s glory days, it’s going to be seen just about everywhere. Welcome back to a cult classic.
