adidas Originals release a Samba for the World Cup

It really is approaching, isn’t it?

Every day it feels like a new brand is gearing up for the World Cup in Russia, with many putting out collections that are inspired by what’s waiting for us this summer. adidas Originals are doing more than most, with retro jerseys, remixed retro jerseys, Palace collabs and now, a special adidas Samba as a tribute to the World Cup final venue, the Luzhniki Stadium.

Their iconic shoe is the epitome of football and fashion, being introduced as the king of indoor football trainers and evolving into a fashion statement in their own right. These special editions ditch the trademark black and white colourway and come in a very Russian whit and red look, completed by stars on the heel that our iconography of the host nation.

‘Luzhniki’ is etched down the side of the three-stripes where you would usually see ‘Samba’ written or various city place names should it be from adidas’ revitalised Gazelle range. A big tongue – or more so a massive one – completes the quintessentially Samba look of these shoes, too, as adidas create yet another World Cup inspired product for their collection.

Take a look at their impressive work with BAPE, too which incidentally or otherwise, would go extremely well with these shoes in an outfit.
