Looking like a 2018 version of the iconic Copa Mundial, adidas have released a new potential future classic.
You can’t really beat a pair of black and white boots. Puma King, Umbro Speciali, Nike Tiempo and adidas Copa Mundial are undoubtedly among the most loved yet most simple football boots to ever grace a pitch. As such, it’s no surprise that adidas, ahead of the 2018 ‘Copa Mundial’ or World Cup, have chosen to revisit their most iconic boot ever.
Coming in what they’re calling a ‘Copa Skin,’ this boot has it’s own black and white, classic look. The three stripes remain white and on the instep and outstep of the boot, just like on those classic Copa Mundial boots that arrived way back in 1982.
One difference, though, is the lack of laces. Unimaginable back in that Spanish World Cup, these boots have a much more futuristic approach. Still K-leather, but the skin-like texture of these makes for a tight but comfortable and natural fit, more similar to the modern boots that we see the elite players of 2018 wearing.
There’s going to be a lot to keep your eye on out in Russia this summer – now under 6 weeks away – but the Glitch 18 has the potential to be a football boot that outlives the tournament, itself.
